Donnie Holstein Jr., 79, of Whitesville, WV had his grand homecoming on November 4, 2018 after a short illness. He was a devoted Christian and a member of New Life Assembly. He was a coal miner for 43 years. He was married to his loving wife, Noble, for 59 years. Donnie loved storytelling, whether they were true or not. He was always the life of the party and loved to make people laugh. To some he was known as “Farmer” but to everyone else he was known as “Pop”. His pride and joy were his grandkids and his great-grandchildren and his little buddy Milo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donnie and Luttie and 18 brothers and sisters and one son, Cammy Ray Holsten and a daughter-in-law, Angie Holsten. He is survived by his wife, Noble of Whitesville; three daughters: Tammy (Mike) Gordon of Orlando, WV, Jenny (Greg) Elswick of Orgas, WV and Donna (Mitchell) Clay of Woodstock, GA; one son, Steven Holsten of Whitesville; five grandchildren: Erica (Chris) Lukas of Woodstock, GA, Brandon Gordon of Charleston, WV, Justin Clay of Woodstock, GA, Joshua (April) Gordon of Mt. Perry, OH and Cody (Katie) Elswick of Moneta, VA; three great-grandchildren: Brookelynn and Eli (Levi) Milam of Mt. Perry, OH and Asher Elswick of Moneta, VA; a sister, Monrita Aliff and a brother, Denny Ray Holsten. Special friend of over 40 years Leon Hager and many, many others from through the years. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. in the Jarrell Family Cemetery at Dry Creek, WV with Rev. Gary Williams officiating. Armstrong Funeral Home Whitesville is serving the family.
