Freda Mae Miller, 91, of Seth, WV, went home to be with the Lord on September 16, 2018, at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, Ohio.
She was born in Nellis, WV to the late Don and Anna Howell on April 6, 1927. She is preceded in death by her husband Jesse Ray Miller and her brother Bill Howell.
Freda graduated from Clear Fork High School in June 1945, where she was a member of the CFHS Alumni Association and looked forward to the reunions that were held every other year. She then went on to work for the United States Postal Service for several years. Freda also attended the Whitesville Baptist Church in Whitesville, WV for many years. Freda enjoyed bowling, walking, travelling to Myrtle Beach, SC and many, many cruises. She also was an avid member of the Red Hate Society, where she spent many days enjoying the company of the other members. Freda is survived by her son James “Butch” Miller and wife, Betsy Miller; son, Billy Wayne Miller; brother Earl Howell; sister, Carol “Cass” and husband Joe Pettry; as well as five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren whom she always enjoyed spending time with.
The family would like to express appreciation to the staff of Ravenswood Care Center for the love and care they demonstrated to Freda. Funeral services will be Thursday afternoon at one o’clock in the First Baptist Church, Whitesville, WV with Rev.’s Jerry Pauley and Dennis Dye officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday afternoon from 6 to 8 at the church
Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery, Orgas, WV. Armstrong Funeral Home is serving the family.
