Jimmie Lee Browning,79 of Racine, WV passed away at home on Saturday, April 13, 2019 from complications of Parkinson. He was born on November 10, 1939 in Charleston, WV. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard C. & Beulah Browning, an infant brother, Bernard W. Browning and a half-brother, Sammy Smith. A Sherman High School graduate and attended VPI (Virginia Tech). He was a Steamfitter by trade belonging to AFL-CIO Local 227, Columbia, South Carolina. Retired as a Mechanical Senior Specialist Engineer in the construction industry having worked for Middough Associates & CDI Engineering. A member of the First Baptist Church of Racine where he served as a Deacon & Sunday School teacher. He served on the original committee of the Coal River Public Service District that brought water to the Big Coal Area. A member of The Great Kanawha Resource Conservation & Development Council. Board member and Past President of the Boone County Ambulance Authority. One of the original members of the Coal River Group, Big Coal River Branch-CRG, Big Coal River Heritage Festival, Charleston Parkinson’s Support Group and the Agape Cloak Ministry. He is survived by his soul mate, Mary Armstrong Browning, who he married on July 3, 1959; son, Jimmie Lee (JB) Browning and daughter-in-law, Lee Ann of Dunbar, WV; daughter, Mary Dannette Browning of Cocoa Beach, FL; brother-in-law, James Armstrong and wife, Sandy of Whitesville, WV and a host of family and friends. The family would like to thank: Stonerise Healthcare, Palliative Care, Hospice and the many family and friends that have supported the family. We would like to express our appreciation to our two close caregivers Betty Cameron and Sherri Sharps. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you donate to a charity of your choice or to The First Baptist Church of Racine, PO Box 10 Racine, WV 25165 or to the Boone County Community Foundation, Armstrong-Browning Fund which is set up to serve the people of Big Coal River and Boone County PO Box 695 Madison, WV 25130. The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Racine with the service to follow at 1:00 pm with Rev. Anthony Pratt officiating. Interment will follow at the Pineview Cemetery Orgas, WV.
