Jimmy Dale McKinney of Keith WV passed away on Feb.3, 2019. He was the beloved son of the late Delmus and Ruby McKinney. Jimmy was a born again Christian and a member of the Keith Full Gospel Church. He was a 1973 graduate of Sherman High School. He was a disabled Coal Miner from U.S. Steel Joe’s Creek Branch, Comfort WV. Jimmy took great pride in all he did but his greatest pleasure was his love of family. Nothing could bring him more enjoyment than the love and laughter of his grandchildren, he was their Poppy and they loved him dearly.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart, Patty, his only son Jimmy Dale Jr, his loving mother-in-law, Velvia Carpenter all of Keith WV, his sisters Etta Atkins of Lorain Ohio, Betty Davis of Madison WV, Nancy Hawkins of Whitesville WV, Alberta Williams of Seth WV, and his brother Jackie McKinney of Whitesville WV. His grandchildren, the light of his life, Madison McKinney, Carly McKinney, and Timothy McKinney of Lester WV, Marlei Smith of Charleston WV and Brayden McKinney of Fairmont WV.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Arthur McKinney and Dallas McKinney and sister Jessie Foster. He was also proceeded in death by his brother –in-law and lifelong friend, Johnny Ray Carpenter.
The funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb 9, 2019 at 1:00 in the Keith Full Gospel Church, Keith WV with Pastor June Ferrell and Mike Kenney officiating. Interment will follow in the Pineview Cemetery. Orgas, WV. The visitation will be 2 hours before the service at the church. Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville WV is in charge of the arrangements.
Our family is drawn to 2 Timothy Chapter 4, Verse 7 for comfort. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.
