Ralph Dean Humphrey, 86, of Dry Creek, WV died at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston on January 1, 2019 after a brief illness. He was born December 8, 1932 at Surveyor, WV and was the only son of the late Walter and Merle Barrett Humphrey. After attending Marsh Fork High School, Ralph proudly served his country in the United States Army including a tour in the Korean Conflict. For several years he was employed at the Glen L. Martin Aircraft Company in Baltimore, Maryland. His most enjoyable employment years were spent driving a freight truck throughout the Eastern United States. After his retirement Mr. Humphrey moved back to WV. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Frances Humphrey and Hazel Todd; survivors include three sisters, Elizabeth Wilkes of Teays Valley, Patsy Humphrey of Dry Creek and Constance Stone and her husband, Michael of Seth. He is also survived by his nephew, Brad Phelps (Melanie) of Milton, WV; great-nephew, Alec Phelps of Morgantown. Also left to cherish his memory is his special friend, Rose Hartford of Oregon, OH. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hubbard Hospice House 1001 Curtis Price Way Charleston, WV 25311.
