Our beloved sister and friend to all who knew her, Janet Faye Thompson, passed away peacefully February 27, 2020. She was born May 18, 1959 in Beckley, West Virginia. She was the daughter of Lacy and Jo Ella Thompson of Sycamore Hollow in Clear Fork District of Raleigh County. Janet was one of five sisters and is survived by Karen Massey and husband Fred, Diana Nelson and husband Barry (Bert), Linda and husband Mark, and Ellen Thompson. She cherished all of her nieces and nephews which include Caitlin Nelson, Emily and Jeff Stump and their children Paisley and Carson, and JR Massey. Janet worked most of her life as a servant to the public for many years in Charleston, West Virginia. She loved all of her Clear Fork classmates and would cherish their memories as she spoke about them. She was especially fond of her favorite adoptive pet, George. Janet requested to be cremated and her wishes were carried out. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 2pm, at the Pentecostal Freedom Church in Ameagle, West Virginia. Family and friends are invited to enjoy a meal in celebration of Janet’s life following the services at the Fellowship Hall of the church. Janet will be missed by all who knew her.
